Pretty Serious Absence and Presence

*Press Samples*

Hi everyone! Today I have two more Pretty Serious Cosmetics cremes to share with you, this time their black and white cremes. I'm sure that if you have been around the nail polish world for any length of time you know that the search for a "holy grail" black and white creme polish is a constant struggle. Pretty Serious set out on a mission to create the perfect black and white creme polishes so that we could all end our quest, so let's see how they did!

Absense is a black creme polish. Formula on this polish was divine! It was the perfect thickness that I was able to get away with one careful coat. It wasn't too thick or too thin, but just right (I'm feeling a bit like Goldilocks here, but it's true!). One thing I really desire in a black creme is for it to not be running into the cuticles and this certainly did not do that and the tiny bit of clean-up I had to do I had no staining of the cuticles, which is another huge plus from me.

Presence is a white creme polish. Great white cremes are notoriously hard to find because they are often streaky and chalky, but none of that was going on here. With a light stroke, I was almost able to get away with one coat, but I still ended up doing two for good measure (trust me, that is impressive). Probably the more talented polishers out there could just do one. It self-leveled really nicely too, which is fantastic for a white. Do note that any weirdness you see around the edges of my nails was not because of this nice polish, it was my terrible bottle of topcoat that was on its last legs when I was swatching these. :/

I wanted to take it a step further and see how they stamped! Now these were not designed for stamping, but I'm always curious how new black and white cremes stamp. I alternated Absence and Presence on my nails and then stamped over them with the opposite color. I feel like they both stamped pretty cleanly, but Presence was the most impressive to me as a stamping polish. Just look at how nicely it stamps over the black! Absense still stamped pretty cleanly, but it was a bit less opaque so you didn't get a super bold black stamp over the white (it did look a little less washed out in real life, photos seemed to make it look even less opaque that it really was). Also let's all be sure to take in my hack job 4 AM stamping skillz. *sigh* I tried, ok? If you squint your eyes a bit, it looks totally profesh.

All-in-all, I'm really impressed with these two polishes. I can't wait to use them for nail art and base purposes and I will be purchasing more when I run out! I think if you are on the hunt for a great black and white creme you should definitely give these a try!

Absence and Presence are available in Pretty Serious's shop. Pretty Serious polishes are also stocked with these other stockists within Australia and internationally. Be sure to follow them on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter and their blog for updates and swatches. Thanks for looking everyone!
